Rolling through the high desert of Cochise County, this 83-mile loop offers a perfect blend of sweeping curves, ghost town history, and the rugged spirit of the Old West.
Cruise through the agricultural heart of the Douglas Basin. You’ll hit McNeal and Elfrida, both of which offer gas and small-town charm. The Gleeson Road is the highlight for many riders. Often virtually untraveled and well-paved, it cuts through a low gap in the Dragoon Range. Be sure to stop at the Historic Gleeson Jail for a quick photo op.
Arrive in Tombstone. Park the bike and stretch your legs on the dirt of Historic Allen Street. It’s a great spot for lunch or a quick visit to the O.K. Corral.
Head back toward Bisbee on Highway 80. You’ll wind through the scenic Mule Pass Tunnel before descending back into the “haunted hills” of Bisbee to finish the loop. Much of the ride stays between 4,000 and 5,000 feet, making it significantly cooler than the Phoenix or Tucson valleys—ideal for a summer morning run.
